Charles, has been creating text-based sculptural artworks, using slip-casting and extruding.

The work is an exploration of depth/extrusion via aspects of language & iconography, and vice-versa.

Each piece is conceptualised using sketches and digital planning via 3D software, and constructed using the slab-building technique.

Building upon a 20 year design career, these sculptural works are a natural evolution of the idea of ‘type as image’ and represent a new explorative practice.
